Ask answers a question about a day instantly. "What's
tomorrow", "what's due friday", "what's september 18th" and
"what day is it" are answered straight from your plan, with no
waiting and no AI call. Ask also stopped refusing true answers
about days other than today.
Answers write themselves out word by word, whether or not a model wrote them.
Ask opens and closes smoothly, and puts the divider back where you left it. The bar glows under your cursor, and under the caret while you type.
A taller calendar and Today.
Syllabus tables are read row by row, so a grading or attendance rule keeps the grade it belongs to instead of coming away from it. Cadent also re-reads a course syllabus in the background, so a course you imported earlier catches up. - 0.5.12 · 17 September 2026

Choose when you go to office hours. Add office hours or a help
session to your calendar and pick the time you will actually go. Only
that time counts on your plan. The rest of the session stays grey.
Twenty colors. Twelve accents in families, plus eight Worlds that tint the whole window, like Roselily. Pick one in Settings or when you sign up.
Focus. Hide finished work and Only busy days now sit together in one button beside the calendar's layers, and Show everything really shows everything.
Import a calendar from the + button, and importing the same file twice no longer doubles your events. - 0.5.11 · 17 September 2026

A week view like Apple Calendar. Seven day columns with today
circled, an all-day row for tasks and deadlines, and one clock where
classes and planned work sit at their real times, with a line for now.
The week and the month start on the same day your Mac does.
Moving work off a busy day. Ask Cadent "I have too much work today, can you move it" and it suggests real moves you can accept in one click. It no longer offers to rearrange a day that has already passed.
The Today tab. The Due today list is gone, both panes always show a scrollbar, and the divider stops before any word would split. - 0.5.10 · 16 September 2026

Ask answers the everyday questions itself, with no AI. Your
quizzes and tests, what is due, what to start with, when one
assignment is due, what is late, what you have finished, your
classes, and a class's own rules. Answers are short and plain, one
line per item, and they arrive instantly.
It names the right class. Every piece of a class file now carries the class it came from, so a message that never spells out the course cannot be credited to a different one.
Course schedules are read properly. A row like "9/18 · F · Quiz 1" keeps its date, so a quiz listed only in a course schedule still reaches your plan.
Dates written in page text. "Complete LS02 (Tuesday)" on a page for the week of 8/25 now means that week's Tuesday, not the day Cadent read the page, and work already handed in on Gradescope no longer comes back as a duplicate.
Smaller things. Setup no longer lets you skip connecting Canvas, but you can go back or sign out. You can drag the divider between Calendar and Today, and it stays where you put it. Settings has a course drop-down. A calendar you import no longer doubles up a class Cadent already knows. And you can export your class notes to Obsidian if you want them outside the app. - 0.5.0 · 2 September 2026

Two more places your work can come from: McGraw-Hill Connect
and Macmillan Achieve. Assignments and due dates from both
now reach your plan the same way Gradescope does, through the
browser extension.
A guided first run. Setup walks you through connecting Canvas, choosing which courses count, and installing the extension, and shows each course arriving as it imports, before the app opens.
One-click import on any supported course page, not just Gradescope, and you can add a new source any time from Settings rather than only during setup. - 0.4.0 · 28 August 2026
- Canvas keeps itself current, re-checking through the day and picking up new or changed assignments without redoing work that has not changed. Gradescope capture arrived in beta through the browser extension, and the first-run experience was rebuilt.
